What Information Is Needed for a Cable Quotation?

The fastest way to get a usable cable quote is to send model, voltage, size, quantity and application details.

Cable is not quoted like a fixed retail product. The quotation depends on model, conductor size, copper or aluminium core, insulation material, shielding, armouring, flame retardant requirement and order quantity.

A complete inquiry should include model or application, rated voltage, conductor material, number of cores, cross-sectional area, cable length, packaging requirement and destination country. Drawings or project specifications are also useful.

If the buyer is unsure about the model, the application environment can be used first. For example: underground power feeder, solar PV string wiring, welding machine lead, control cabinet wiring or wind turbine connection.
